The Sweetest Thing
My youngest sister is the absolute sweetest thing. My wife and I just got married less than two months ago, but none of our guests got us the slippers that we wanted. I wanted this really nice expensive set of plush slippers, but apparently none of our attendants chose this for a gift. I hadn’t really thought about it until a few weeks ago when my sister called us up. She wanted to meet and have lunch and give us her gift. She didn’t want to give it at the wedding because she didn’t have enough money then, so we said that was fine and that she didn’t really need to get us anything. But she said that she was having none of that, and that if it took her an entire year, she would save up to get us something.
After we had lunch she put a box up on the table. My wife opened it immediately and pulled out a pair of stylish bunny slippers. My sister had gotten us the very gift that we totally wanted but no one got for us. We thanked her a great deal and then she even picked up the tab for lunch. She really is the sweetest thing and I hope that her life plays out exactly as it’s supposed to.
